Double check an Internet Nanny’s CV

In the interests of child protection, we have introduced a new service for those families who decide to look for a Nanny on the Internet.

Before you interview your online candidate ask them if they have been interviewed by Little Masters and Misses and can offer our exclusive RCI card.

It proves that we are happy to represent them, having subjected the candidate to our rigorous interview, identity, CV and reference checks.

For additional peace of mind, and a fee of just £50 you can receive the Agency verified copy of that Nanny’s CV to ensure it tallies completely with the information you’ve been given.

This also entitles you to 12 months Agency membership.
And for a further £100 we will send you the references we have obtained on that Nanny.

So for just £150 you could have total peace of mind

£300 Agency Fee

whether we place a nanny for a 1,2,3,4 or 5 day week

We save you time and up to £2000

Plus an Agency registration fee of £50 valid for 12 months payable via bank transfer.

Nanny Agencies have gained a bad reputation for being too expensive but according to research, many employers who don’t use an Agency can easily be misled over the appropriate salary and overpay a nanny by an average of £1.50 per hour gross.  That can equate to up to £200 per month or £2400 per year. So, our industry expertise, second opinion and salary advice is invaluable.
Established since 1985, we remain in contact with over 300 local professional and elite nannies that we are proud to represent.  We believe that our agency fee is a fair charge for the average five hours we spend face to face interviewing each nanny to cross check their stated CV history, obtaining references on them and providing guidance on the appropriate salary for their level of expertise and experience.

To further protect children, it is the agency and not the nanny that select the references we apply for and we always request more than the last two employers.        Employing a nanny is considered an expensive form of childcare (although it has become more affordable because of the Ofsted scheme) so we represent nannies able to set your children a reasonable standard on English grammar and grooming.

We are conscious that there are now lots of childcare web sites where parents can look for nannies and nannies can seek work.  However, the Internet is just a sweet shop noticeboard for the 21st Century – excellent development for selling goods and services but not an appropriate medium for finding someone to look after your children in your absence.  At Little Masters and Misses we are committed to child protection and feel, therefore, that we have a professional duty to ask you to take into account the following when considering searching for childcare online:

  • Internet candidates will naturally represent their own interest and often overcharge
  • They can easily offer false referees and we have seen a case where another Nanny’s identity has been stolen.
  • They can ‘boost’ their CVs by deleting jobs where they don’t think they would get a glowing reference.
  • They can claim another Nanny’s CV as their own– just adding their own personal details.
  • They may only be advertising on the Internet because they have not been able to get onto the books of a reputable Agency, or have been taken off the books.

Unfortunately we know of instances where each of the above has happened!

Why use Little Masters and Misses?

Our success is impressive and we offer a professional agency office service
  • We advise you start seeking a nanny 3 months before the start date, as nannies will have 4 – 6 weeks notice to give current employers.
  • We aim to introduce the right nanny to the right employer. Sometimes this can happen within 10 days but the process can take up to 6 weeks because we’d rather do it right than do it quick.
  • We listen carefully and check details of your job
  • We remain in regular contact Monday to Friday keeping you informed on the progress made whilst discussing your post with suitable candidates.
  • We send you appropriate CVs of nannies who have confirmed they are not aware of your vacancy and want only us to represent them.
  • At your request we arrange interviews with the candidates we introduce.
  • On a 2nd interview, past and present references will be sent.
  • To keep our final £300 agency fee as low as possible, it is invoiced on the day a nanny accepts your job offer and payable within 7 days by bank transfer.
