The agency role is to advise and assess the individual personal needs of both the client and nanny so we can make the right introductions.  Having been a nanny myself for eight years, I experienced and understand the issues that are important to you.

We genuinely enjoy meeting and advising nannies so unusually allow up to 2 hours interviewing you at length to scrupulously check CVs and take an average of five references of our choosing.   In our 25th year of business we offer elite nanny services so are extremely particular about the good nature and professional calibre of the nannies we take onto our books.
You will need to meet the following criteria to join our professional team of over 300 nannies:

• Do you have a genuine love of children that is reflected in references?
• Can you guarantee your constant nanny professionalism, punctuality and reliability?
• Are you over 18, with childcare qualifications?
• If you are unqualified and on a lower hourly rate you will need to have worked as a Nanny in the UK for 3 years with at least one family each for a minimum of 12 months.
• You should be willing to pay 50 percent of your Ofsted registration. It is your responsibility to prove you have a clear CRB and pay for Nanny insurance
• Most employers request a total non-smoker

We appreciate you may well want to improve your chances of gaining employment by registering with more than one agency and it is sensible to do so.  We also recognise that there are an increasing number of childcare web sites where you can advertise and look for employment (please do be mindful of your personal safety and also the potential for your details to be taken and used fraudulently if you use these sites). 

From a child protection point of view, however, advertising for childcare and/or seeking childcare employment on the Internet does concern us.  Accordingly, we have introduced a new Internet service designed to minimise the potential for risk to children and also to make Little Masters and Misses nannies stand out from the vast competition crowd.

New service designed to make you stand out from other nannies

Nannies that successfully complete our registration process that we are happy to represent will be offered a Little Masters and Misses RCI card.  The card bears a unique reference number and also your photo.  It proves you have been interviewed by Little Masters and Misses and that we have confirmed your identity.

We urge you to present it at interviews and to encourage families to phone us to confirm your membership.  For an additional fee, we will give them access to the Agency copy of your CV, which we have checked and verified.  We can also forward families copies of references we have taken up on you.  This gives them significant additional peace of mind and gives you an advantage over other Internet candidates. 

There is a £25 annual membership charge for the card but it also entitles you to the following:

• Discount of up to £80 (compared to other Agencies) on our Saturday one-day First Aid course at Beckenham British Red Cross. This Ofsted registration approved training run since 1998 is specifically for, and only available to, Little Masters and Misses nannies.  It costs just £60.
• A year round nanny advisory service.  With 25 years of nanny industry experience, I’ve encountered most situations and am on hand to provide ongoing help & advice and to give a confidential second opinion on any matter. If this service was not available to nannies you would need to contact the government-recorded department ACAS for employment advice.
• The credibility of being part of an elite team. 
• We publicise the RCI card with hundreds of families on popular childcare Internet sites so they know nannies that offer them our card are of a sufficient professional standard.  This gives you a huge advantage over nannies looking for work online who do not have the card.
• We will keep in touch with you on a weekly basis until you have found a job.
• We give realistic and up to date advice on the salaries employer may pay up to.
• We aim to protect your interests to gain the fairest employment contract and salary terms based on your CV, childcare qualification, experience and referees offered.
• Advice about the Ofsted Childcare Register.  90% of employers now insist that a nanny is registered so they can claim back tax credits or use childcare vouchers.
